Kauhale
Kauhale
A kauhale was more than a single home, it was a cluster of houses, each with its own purpose, built together to sustain the family and community. Inspired by this concept, the Kauhale Program nurtures health and well-being (mauli ola) for the whole ʻohana. By uplifting traditional Hawaiian lifestyles and the strength of community, Kauhale offers a space for connection, healing and growth where every member has a place and a purpose.
Within our modern kauhale, each hale carries its own kuleana. The Hale Mua is where kāne gather to hoʻoikaika kino and learn ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. The Hale Peʻa is where wāhine come together to kuku kapa and haʻi moʻolelo. The keiki have a hale of their own to play, explore and strengthen their love for culture and community. Please register to learn more about how your ʻohana can benefit from Kauhale.
