Dental Hygienist – Oral Health
The Dental Hygienist collaborates with our dentists to provide diagnostic, preventive and early intervention treatment in our office and community, and then supports referral and follow-up activities. Working together with the dentist, the Dental Hygienist performs assessments with the use of digital radiographs, intraoral and extraoral photos, and scanners. The RDH performs cleanings and oral health education. This work will also be in geographically distributed, telehealth-connected teams where the dentist is in a dental office or clinic and allied dental
personnel are in community locations.
General / Pediatric Dentist – Malama Niho Oral Health
The General & Pediatric Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients within the scope of general dentistry. This position supports Hui No Ke Ola Pono’s mission by delivering high-quality, culturally responsive oral health services in clinic, school-based, community-based, and mobile settings.
The General & Pediatric Dentist works collaboratively with Oral Health, Medical, Behavioral Health, Community Care, and outreach teams to support integrated, patient-centered care for Native Hawaiian and underserved communities across Maui County.
This position places additional emphasis on pediatric oral health, early intervention, prevention, patient and caregiver education, and creating a positive and trauma-informed dental experience for children and families.
Oral Health Community Health Worker – Oral Health
Responsible for improving access to dental care through community engagement, coordination of place-based dental services, and client support. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with HNKOP Community Health Workers and community partners to identify and register new clients, schedule appointments, and ensure seamless delivery of place-based and clinic-based oral health services. The CHW also provides case management to clients needing additional assistance navigating care and supports clinical operations by assisting the float dental assistant, as needed.
Comptroller – Admin
The Comptroller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records. This role manages day-today accounting functions, supports financial reporting and audits, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and maintains strong internal controls. The Comptroller serves as a key financial steward, supporting leadership with reliable financial data and sound fiscal practices.
Community Healthcare Worker – Admin
The Community Healthcare Worker (CHW) provides frontline public health outreach services to the Native Hawaiian and greater Maui community to promote community networking and participation in HUI programs. A CHW serves as a liaison between health and social services, and the community to facilitate access to services to improve community health outcomes. Through outreach efforts and services, the CHW creates
trust building relationships, and eliminates barriers to care by serving people where they are. The CHW conducts and participates in all HUI programs, presentations, and health education & screenings.
The CHW functions as a cross-trained team member across all Hui departments and programs. Performs duties within Oral Health, Traditional Healing, Imi Ola Hou, Front Desk and Reception, and other operational areas as assigned. The CHW supports the Ka La’i Ola Coordinator and other program staff to ensure seamless service delivery and continuity of operations.
Registered Dietician – ‘Ima Ola Hou
The Registered Dietitian (RD) is a key health professional at Hui No Ke Ola Pono, providing evidence-based, holistic, and culturally relevant medical nutrition therapy to individuals and ʻohana throughout Maui. This role centers on improving both personal and community health outcomes by addressing food-related risk factors, chronic conditions, and social determinants of health while embracing Native Hawaiian values, practices, and local sustainable food systems.
